#519 Games for Mobile

Posted by xenolover on 02 March 2014 - 09:16 PM

I've seen a number of advertisements for mobile games, but I've never really gotten into it. I've been wanting to play something fun and engrossing for a while now, so I figured I might give it a try. Anyone have any suggestions for games?

#548 Story versus Game play

Posted by Cid on 06 March 2014 - 03:16 AM

Which aspect of a game is more important to you?

So many people I know have complained about either the quality of stories in games being lackluster, or the game play being too easy. I've noticed a mix of both in a number of games lately. For me, a game has to have a decent story. I can forgive game play hiccups if the story is good. Good mechanics and bad story, though? Ehhh...

#409 BitCoins

Posted by Love on 16 February 2014 - 05:13 PM

What do you guys think about this new digital currency that has been all the hype these past few months? The prices have been fluctuating like crazy and the shutdown of MT.Gox has brought its values down to around $650 per coin. What do you guys think? Will we learn to adapt the use of Bitcoins in our future?

Btw, this is Love ;) Would love to see increased activity on this forum.

#126 Cheats and walkthroughs

Posted by Beedle on 26 September 2013 - 05:38 PM

So I'm the first to admit that I'm not the greatest gamer in the world.  I love playing but a lot of the time my brain just can't seem to fathom out what I'm meant to do next (maybe I'm a bit dim?!   ).  Rather than give up on a game that I've spent my hard-earned money on, I'll freely turn to online walkthroughs or cheats so that I can get past the bit I'm stuck on.  My boyfriend says this is defeating the whole purpose of playing, but surely it's better to do that than waste money by leaving the game sat on the shelf?  Do you use online walkthroughs?  Have you ever written one?

#433 Decent JRPGs

Posted by xenolover on 24 February 2014 - 02:40 AM

Anyone else here a big fan of good ol' JRPGs (Final Fantasy, Tales, Shin Megami, etc)?

I've been pretty hungry for a decent RPG for a while now, but alas. I know there are a ton of European and US RPGs, but they've never held the same appeal to me. Many of the offerings as of late just haven't been appealing. Anyone found one recently that sunk its teeth in and didn't let go?

#552 How important is gaming to you?

Posted by Huxley on 10 March 2014 - 07:05 PM

This sounds like a silly question, but I'm curious. For some people, gaming is a very serious thing and means quite a bit. Video games were a formative part of my childhood, and they've gone on to inform my creative pursuits quite a bit. I'm not the only one, it seems--many other writers and artists cite video games as inspiration. They're definitely important to me. What about you guys?

#492 What games are you looking forward to this year?

Posted by Vangel on 01 March 2014 - 01:06 PM

I am very much looking forward to Titanfall. http://www.titanfall.com/

I had backed Shroud Of Avatar on Kickstarter for about 250US$. Unfortunately the folks behind it went on a money binging rampage. Now all they do is ask for money because it was so succesful the 1st, the 2nd and the 3rd time. I don't think that game is  ever coming out. It if does it will be a major disappointment compared to the amount of money that has been pumped to it. Otherwise I would have looked forward to it.

#608 The Future of Gaming

Posted by Archie on 17 March 2014 - 11:12 AM

After hanging out here for a while, the future of games has been on my mind quite a bit. Twelve years ago, when I was a pretty intensive gamer, it wasn't as "in" to be a gamer as it is now. It makes me wonder what we can expect. If games are tailored more and more for mainstream tastes, will this be a good thing for the industry, or a bad thing?

#310 If you could only have one game system or console for the rest of your life,...

Posted by GamerWorld on 15 January 2014 - 10:31 PM

If you only had the choice of owning one and only one for the rest of your days, what would you choose? I personally would choose a Nintendo 3DS. It is all I basically play, anyway.

#394 Flappy Bird Scores?

Posted by Love on 12 February 2014 - 06:41 PM

What are your Flappy Bird scores? Mine's only 15 and I break my phone on each run. What about you guys? What are your scores? Also I'm sure that you guys know already but they took down the app in the app store, and people are selling their phones on ebay for over $5000. It's ridiculous..

#222 Did anyone here ever play online with XBAND?

Posted by roboted on 12 October 2013 - 01:20 PM

I used to play Super Mario Kart, Killer Instinct, NBA Jam and a few other games for SNES over my phone line through this service called XBAND.  You paid like fifteen dollars a month to play against available opponents in your area code.  Did anyone else participate in this service?  I loved it because there was just about no lag.

#140 Breaking Bad vs. Your Childhood

Posted by Avshy on 28 September 2013 - 06:23 PM

I am sure others here have heard of the show Breaking Bad, at this point you should since it seems to be in the news just about everywhere. I caught a clip of it mixed with older games we all know and love and thought I would share. It just makes me laugh hysterically. Does anyone know if they plan to make a game out of this or not?
